     Utilitarian refers to a large array of items that can be used or worn in daily life or have a specialized practical use. I started out my journey working with Fiber by making many practical things such as Table Runners,  Pillows, Bed Quilts, Purses and Vests that I sold at Art Fairs and Boutiques. Recently, Fabric Postcards were added as a popular item! On request I have designed and made fanciful Tea Cozies and Folding Wallets of various configurations. Brightly colored, Fabric Tissue Holders have been inexpensive items that have been consistently popular at Art Fairs.

     The more I work with Fiber the more I have shifted away from the practical and toward the world of Fiber Art. Although not my main focus, I still enjoy designing and making utilitarian items. This category is a catch-all for the various kinds of practical items that I make.

     The Home includes Table Runners, Pillows, Bed Quilts, Tea Cozies, Tissue Holders and Folded Fabric Wallets. They are all made with Cotton fabric using traditional sewing and quilting techniques.

     Wearables includes Apparel and Accessories such as Purses and Totes. They are made with Cotton fabrics and use traditional sewing and quilting techniques. These items also often have added embellishment techniques including appliqué, decorative stitching and beading. (see Glossary for expanded technical details)

Techniques: Various piecing, surface treatment and dimensional techniques often with
Free-motion stitching.

My clutches are made from small design pieces either created specifically for the clutch or by
utilizing orphaned quilt blocks, leftover fabric scraps or to highlight especially beautiful fabric prints.
All my clutches feature my original signature strap feature.
